Thursdays in Black
The recently-inducted General President of the Young Women’s Manyano, Mrs Thini Ngonyama delivered four focus areas during her maiden speech. Focus Area 3 speaks to Gender justice, safety and human rights.
During her speech, she spoke to the facts of women and the church having marched, delivered memorandums and made calls for action yet women and children are increasingly unsafe.
The Methodist Church of Southern Africa has over the past many years embarked on observing the Thursdays in Black movement, this pledging solidarity to the course of the movement.
As you dress in black on Thursdays and send out a silent message to others, we ask you to remember,support and pray for all women and children in your social circles who have been victims of this pandemic especially members of the YWM.
Today we especially pray for missing Central Synod YWM member Nosisa Hlanjwa and her twins.
